Following the Government announcement yesterday and the statement by the Health & Social Care Secretary (Matt Hancock) at the Parliamentary proceeding earlier today, and also the latest update from the Connexion and District we regret that we have had to close all our church buildings immediately and formally announce that all our public worship services in our buildings are suspended until further notice. We have not taken this decision lightly, but we must avoid spreading the Coronavirus unnecessarily. This applies to all our weekday activities, Saturday and Sunday services and meetings and events.
Let us not panic for we have a loving Shepherd who will forever be with us, even if we walk through the valley of death [Read Psalm 23] but ask God’s compassionate love to pervade on all of us so that we may act responsibly without being drowned in our fears. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, Little flock for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom… Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit;” St. Luke 12: 32 & 35.
